Kylian Mbappe delivered a decisive performance against Barcelona, scoring twice to help Real Madrid secure a 2-1 victory away from home. The French forward also reached a notable statistical milestone, moving ahead of former Madrid stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in the number of La Liga El Clasico matches in which they scored multiple goals, according to the supplied report.
Real Madrid claimed all three points in the latest meeting between the Spanish giants, with Mbappe playing the leading role in a memorable win over their arch-rivals.
Mbappe Delivers a Match-Winning Performance
Mbappe opened the scoring in the first half before completing his brace late in the game. His second goal came from a pass by Eduardo Camavinga, which the forward converted with an excellent finish.
The two goals proved decisive as Real Madrid secured a 2-1 victory at Barcelona’s home ground. Mbappe’s clinical finishing made the difference in a closely contested encounter between the two Spanish rivals.
French Star Moves Ahead of Ronaldo and Benzema
According to the statistics platform StatMuse, which shared the figures on X, Mbappe has now scored multiple goals in a La Liga El Clasico on two occasions.
Former Real Madrid forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema each achieved the same feat once in the league fixture against Barcelona, according to the report.
Mbappe’s latest brace therefore puts him ahead of both former Madrid stars in this specific statistical category.
The achievement adds another highlight to the French forward’s growing list of accomplishments in Spanish football. However, the comparison refers specifically to multiple-goal performances in La Liga El Clasico matches, rather than their overall records across all competitions.
Mbappe’s Growing Influence at Real Madrid
Real Madrid signed Mbappe with the expectation that he would deliver decisive performances in major matches. His latest display against Barcelona demonstrated his ability to influence the outcome of one of football’s most closely watched rivalries.
His pace, movement and finishing have made him a key figure in Madrid’s attacking setup. Scoring twice against Barcelona further strengthens his reputation as a player capable of producing decisive moments on the biggest stage.
Moving ahead of Ronaldo and Benzema in this particular statistic is another notable achievement for Mbappe, although both former Madrid stars retain their own significant legacies in El Clasico history.
Can Mbappe Maintain His Form?
The victory gives Real Madrid an important result against their biggest domestic rivals, while Mbappe’s performance provides further encouragement for the club and its supporters.
Maintaining that level throughout the season will be the next challenge for the French forward. If he continues to deliver goals in crucial fixtures, he could add more milestones to his growing record at the Spanish club.
For now, his brace against Barcelona stands out as another memorable chapter in his Real Madrid career.
