India Look to End New Zealand T20I Series on a High in Fifth Match

CricBengal.com | Sports Desk

New Zealand and India are set to meet in the fifth and final T20 International of their series at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Sunday, November 1.

India have already secured the five-match series with a 3–1 lead after winning the first three games. New Zealand, however, bounced back with a convincing 87-run victory in the fourth T20I in Auckland.

The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 am GMT, which is 1:00 pm Bangladesh time and 12:30 pm Indian time.

India Hold a 3–1 Series Lead

India won the first two matches by four wickets each before securing a six-wicket victory in the third T20I. Those results gave the visitors an unassailable 3–0 lead in the series.

New Zealand responded in the fourth match at Eden Park on October 30. Batting first, the hosts posted 259 for seven in 20 overs. India were restricted to 172 for nine, giving New Zealand an 87-run win.

The result reduced the series deficit to 3–1 and gave the hosts momentum heading into the final match.

India Aim to Finish Strongly

Although the series is already decided, India will be looking to finish the tour’s T20I leg with another victory. The visitors will also want to respond after their heavy defeat in Auckland.

For New Zealand, the final match presents an opportunity to build on their fourth-match performance and reduce the series margin further in front of their home supporters.

CricBengal Analysis

The two teams enter the final T20I with different objectives. India will aim to close the series with a win, while New Zealand will look to carry their Auckland momentum into the final match.

The hosts’ 87-run victory in the fourth T20I has added interest to the contest. However, India will still enter the match with the advantage of having won three of the first four games.
