Former Chennai Super Kings bowling coach Eric Simons has praised MS Dhoni’s leadership, highlighting his ability to simplify complex situations and inspire teammates to believe in their own abilities.
Speaking to Cricbuzz, Simons reflected on his nine-year association with CSK and the opportunity to work closely with the former India captain. He described Dhoni as an exceptional person, saying his qualities extended beyond his achievements on the cricket field.
Simons identified two major lessons he learned from Dhoni. The first was the importance of breaking down complicated situations into simple, practical decisions. The second was the value of building a team around a plan that everyone believes in.
According to Simons, even a technically perfect strategy can struggle if players lack confidence in it. A plan supported by the entire group, however, gives the team a stronger foundation for execution.
