Cristiano Ronaldo endured a frustrating return to action after his suspension, missing a penalty and a clear scoring opportunity as Al Nassr secured a 1-0 victory over Neom in the Saudi Pro League on October 20.
Ronaldo had the chance to put Al Nassr ahead from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time. However, the Portuguese forward sent his effort wide.
His difficult night continued shortly after the restart. Following a cross that left him with a clear opportunity from close range, Ronaldo failed to find the target and sent the ball over the crossbar.
Felix Delivers the Winning Goal
Despite Ronaldo’s missed chances, Al Nassr eventually found a breakthrough. João Félix scored just after the hour mark with a powerful effort from the edge of the penalty area.
His goal proved decisive, giving Al Nassr a 1-0 win and all three points.
Why Was Ronaldo Suspended?
The Portuguese Football Federation handed Ronaldo a 30-day suspension and a €255 fine on October 19 after he left the national team camp following a disagreement over his role with head coach Jorge Jesus.
The match against Neom was Ronaldo’s first appearance for Al Nassr after the disciplinary decision. Although his team secured the victory, the forward was unable to mark his return with a goal.
