Bangladesh resumed the fourth day at 79 for six in their second innings, holding an overall lead of 106 runs after securing a 27-run advantage in the first innings.
Bangladesh Bowled Out for 142
Bangladesh were unable to build a substantial second-innings total as the West Indies bowlers continued to dominate. The hosts were eventually dismissed for 142 in 48.4 overs.
Nayeem Hasan provided some resistance with a maiden Test half-century. He scored 52 from 87 deliveries, helping Bangladesh extend their lead to 169 runs.
Roston Chase was the standout bowler for West Indies, taking five wickets for 36 runs. Jomel Warrican also made an important contribution with four wickets.
Brandon King Leads Comfortable Chase
West Indies began their chase positively, with openers John Campbell and Brandon King putting together a 112-run partnership.
Campbell scored 49 before being dismissed, but King continued to anchor the innings. He remained unbeaten on 81 from 115 balls, striking 10 fours and a six.
Kavem Hodge provided support with an unbeaten 31 off 27 deliveries as West Indies reached 170 for two in 35.1 overs to seal an eight-wicket victory.
Warrican Named Player of the Match
Jomel Warrican was named Player of the Match after taking nine wickets across the two innings.
Bangladesh had scored 272 in their first innings, while West Indies replied with 245. However, the hosts’ second-innings collapse left the visitors with a manageable target.
The victory gives West Indies a 1-0 advantage in the series. The second and final Test between the teams will be played in Sylhet.
